River Exploration #218 l 23 May 2026 l Sg. Keroh

by haramakers

After two weeks of cancellation due to heavy rainfall, we finally managed to run our River Exploration Programme again last Saturday.

This session felt especially meaningful as we welcomed 18 participants from the @lifeataveris team, alongside returning support from @calebtan_30 , who not only joined as a participant as usual but also brought along his own team to experience the programme together. It’s always encouraging to see the circle of people growing through shared action.

We were also glad to have @im.ok.man with us again on-site. His return gave us a chance to further discuss potential collaborative actions with neighbouring stakeholders, especially around longer-term river care and community engagement efforts.

Together, the collective effort on the ground made a real difference. Here’s the total waste collected from the river:

* Plastic: 27.05 kg
* Metal: 6.5 kg
* Mixed waste: 105.97 kg
* Fabric: 63.8 kg
* Rubber: 2 kg
* E-waste: 2.5 kg
* Glass/Ceramic: 6.9 kg

Total: 214.72 kg

Beyond the numbers, what stood out most was the shared commitment in the field, corporates, partners, and community members working side by side, not just for cleanup, but for longer-term responsibility towards the river system we all depend on.

We continue to welcome more corporate partners who are interested in moving beyond one-off volunteering, towards deeper, long-term collaboration that creates sustained impact for both communities and the environment.

If you’re exploring meaningful CSR or ESG engagement, we’re open to co-creating something more grounded, continuous, and community-led.
