At Hara Makers, we believe that creativity has the power to inspire action. That is why we are excited to share the Penyu Shell-Ter Project, an initiative that brings art and environmental conservation together in a meaningful way.
The project features 70 handcrafted turtle sculptures, each painted by Malaysian artists and public figures. These sculptures serve as powerful symbols of marine protection, raising awareness about the urgent need to safeguard endangered sea turtles.
The turtles will be displayed at selected YTL Hotels across Malaysia before being auctioned both online and offline. Funds raised will support the Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia (TCS) and PULIHARA, organisations working to protect sea turtle populations and restore marine ecosystems.
What makes this initiative even more impactful is its commitment to uplifting local communities. As part of the project, YTL Cement is donating RM5,000 on behalf of each participating artist to various NGOs across Malaysia — and Hara Makers is honoured to be one of the organisations chosen to receive this support. This contribution helps strengthen our mission of empowering women through upcycling and sustainability.
The Penyu Shell-Ter Project is a beautiful reminder of how art can create awareness, spark conversations, and generate real change for people and the planet.
