When Collaboration Goes Beyond Projects: A Story of Art, Sustainability, and Shared Values

by haramakers

At Hara Makers, some collaborations begin with strategy aligning goals, timelines, and outcomes.
But others begin from something deeper: shared values, shared journeys, and a belief in creating meaningful impact together.

This is one of those stories.

A Connection That Started with Community

Our journey with @weandiart began at @temuweekends a vibrant space filled with creativity, connection, and community spirit. It was more than just a marketplace; it was where ideas, people, and purpose came together.

When the programme came to an end, it felt like something meaningful had been left unfinished.

But some collaborations don’t end they evolve.

Reconnecting Through Purpose

When @zurainu reached out to us to co-create a sustainable gift together with her daughter, @izzatiarts, a talented young artist there was no hesitation.

This wasn’t just another project.

It was a continuation of a shared vision:
to create something that brings together art, sustainability, and community impact.

A Collaboration of Many Hands

This project came together through the collective effort of different makers, each contributing their craft and purpose.

Together with @natureloop_my, we created a product that reflects both creativity and conscious design.

  • The coaster is crafted by Nature Loop, giving new life to materials through thoughtful and sustainable production.
  • The artwork printed on each piece is illustrated by Izzati, with every design carrying her unique expression and artistic voice.
  • The packaging is handcrafted by our mothers’ group, transforming discarded materials into something purposeful, functional, and beautiful.

Each element tells a story not just of materials, but of people.

More Than a Product

This collaboration represents more than a finished item.

It reflects:

  • the value of creative partnerships
  • the importance of supporting local artisans
  • the potential of waste to be reimagined
  • and the power of community-driven impact

Every piece carries layers of meaning from the materials used, to the hands that shaped it, to the story it continues to tell.

Rethinking Corporate Gifting

Today, many organisations are re-evaluating what their gifts represent.

Beyond aesthetics, there is growing awareness around:

  • sustainability
  • responsible sourcing
  • social impact
  • and authenticity

This project is an example of how corporate gifts can go beyond being generic items and instead become something that reflects real values.

Let’s Create Something Meaningful Together

If your organisation is rethinking what your gifts should stand for, this is an invitation.

An invitation to move beyond the ordinary.
To create something that carries real stories, real people, and real impact.

At Hara Makers, we work with partners to co-create products that align with sustainability goals while supporting communities through meaningful work.
