At Sungai Keroh, 17 students from @asiapacificuniversity joined us for our #194th river clean-up, and the river spoke to us again.
Together, we pulled out 71.37 kg of waste: pieces of plastic, fabric, e-waste, even masks and diapers. Each item tells a story, of someone’s choice, of systems that fail, of a world that still struggles with waste.
But it’s not just about the numbers. It’s about the hands that reach into mud and water, the laughter and chatter amidst tongs and gloves, the curiosity in young eyes learning about the rivers they live beside.
For a few hours, we became more than cleaners, we became witnesses, stewards, and storytellers. We saw how fragile ecosystems are, and how resilient people can be when they come together.
To the APU students, thank you for bringing your energy, your questions, and your care. You reminded us that river clean-ups aren’t just tasks, they’re lessons, connections, and commitments.
This river, this session, this community, all of it matters. And there’s still so much work to do.
💚 Join us in the next session. Bring your hands, your heart, and your curiosity. Every step matters. Every person matters.
