Kak Nani’s New Path

Kak Nani’s New Path

Haz  Maini, a 39-year-old housewife with four children, first learned about Hara Makers two years ago through a friend who invited her to join an upcycling plastic bean bag project. Before joining, she relied entirely on her husband’s salary and had limited financial independence. Since becoming part of Hara Makers, she has been able to earn her own income and buy things without asking for money from her husband.

Previously unaware of recycling, she now actively separates waste and sees the value in repurposing plastics. Her favorite project is making upcycling plastic fabric from plastic materials, as she enjoys the process of cutting and assembling them. She finds it fascinating that what was once considered trash, like candy wrappers, can be transformed into beautiful and useful items such as bags and baskets.

Joining Hara Makers has changed her perspective on waste management. She now separates plastic waste for upcycling instead of throwing everything away. She enjoys sharing her experience with others and encouraging them to see the creative potential of recycled materials.
