Buy-Back Programme for Plastic Responsibility
Hara Makers’ Buy-Back Programme provides traceable waste management and measurable environmental outcomes, while transforming your waste into co-branded upcycled products that empower low-income women and strengthen your sustainability story.
The Problem
- Increasing ESG, EPR, and sustainability disclosure pressure
- Heightened scrutiny around greenwashing and unverified claims
- Limited credible, traceable downstream solutions for plastic waste
- CSR fatigue — stakeholders now expect evidence, not intent
Our solution
Hara Makers’ Buy-Back Programme supports corporates in responsibly managing plastic waste through a field-tested circular approach, delivering traceable environmental and social outcomes, while converting waste into co-branded upcycled products that support community livelihoods and credible sustainability communications.

Responsible Plastic Handling & Documentation
Documented handling of selected plastic waste streams through controlled, traceable processes.

Traceable & Review- Ready ESG Data
Structured tracking of environmental and social indicators, prepared for internal and external review.

Community-Centred Circular Implementation
Upcycling carried out by trained women artisans, generating income and skills through practical circular work.
Roadmap to Implementation

Waste Collection & Assessment
Your plastic waste streams (LDPE, PP, HDPE, mixed plastics) are assessed and documented.

Responsible Processing
Recyclable plastics are channelled into appropriate recovery pathways. Non-recyclables are managed through approved downstream partners and local councils

Upcycling & Production
Makers craft products from prepared materials.

Delivery & Reporting
Finished products are delivered with an impact report.
Note: Timeline typically takes 6 weeks. Smaller volumes may be completed faster; larger volumes may require more time.

Real Impact in Action
In partnership with Yayasan TM, we upcycled materials into 1,200 sustainable hats while creating meaningful income opportunities for 10 women from local communities. These hats support reforestation efforts, turning waste into purpose and environmental action. The initiative not only delivers social and environmental benefits but also strengthens ESG reporting through measurable, real world impact.
What We Accept
WE ACCEPT ALL TYPES OF PLASTIC WASTE
From packaging to containers, we work with corporates to manage their single-use plastics responsibly.
OUR MAIN TARGET: LDPE
- Commonly found in plastic bags, bubble wrap, inner packaging, stretch film
- Why LDPE? It's often landfilled and rarely recycled, but we can upcycle it into new products
- Prefer clean and pre-sorted, but minor contaminatiob (e.g. tape, dust) is ok
OTHER PLASTICS WE ACCEPT
- PP (e.g. food containers, straws)
- PET (e.g. drink bottles, trays)
- HDPE (e.g. detergent bottles)
- Mixed soft/rigid plastics
- Mixed plastics are accepted under our waste management fee model, which supports sorting and responsible downstream processing.
Is this greenwashing?
No. We measure impact, pay our artisans, and report results.
Can we order small quantities?
Small pilot orders are welcome.
Can we co-brand?
Yes, your logo on every product.
Can we visit your centre or join a clean-up?
We’d love to host you!
