The Octopus of Burden

by Chloe Liaw

The Weight of Plastic is a community-made installation created by members of PA Sri Sarawak, Sri Hang Tuah, and Sri Selangor, and led by the Hara Makers Team. Using reclaimed plastic food packaging and single-use plastic bags, the installation highlights the overwhelming presence of plastic waste in our daily lives. The octopus gripping the Earth, with its many hands, symbolizes the urgent need for collective action to tackle plastic pollution and protect the environment.

*The Octopus of Burden will be showcased for the first time at @peszta_ this coming Saturday, 14 September 24 at Kampung Atap.
